How do you pick your fabrics?

Our designers have sorted through hundreds of materials looking for the materials that look and feel like real fur. Also, we liked some longer fiber materials like the arctic fox and raccoon which have fibers up to 2 inches. We narrowed it down to our current designs. However, we will constantly be looking for new designs and materials as we update our product line.

Are you competitively priced?

You can find throws cheaper than ours, but you certainly will get what you pay for. Compare our heavier stitching, quality edging and very thick, soft material and you will see a throw that will last for years. Comparable quality and size throws can range up to $400.00.

What are the care instructions?

Care instructions are very important. We recommend you spot clean your throw or pillow cover with a mild soap and cold water. If you need to clean the whole thing, we recommend dry cleaning using the Pile method which uses very little solvent. You can also machine wash your faux fur in cold water, delicate cycle and AIR DRY. DO NOT use the dryer because applying any heat will damage the material. DO NOT even use no heat cycle, because the friction of the material tumbling will cause its own heat.

Why are the care instructions so important?

Our faux materials are comprised of very, very thin acrylic fibers and since acrylic is a polymer, it contracts when exposed to heat. Have you ever thrown something plastic into a campfire and watch it will curl up and shrink? This is exactly what will happen to your throw. The fibers will curl and become very matted, ruining the material. Avoid this by following the care instructions above.

Are your faux fur throws and pillows flammable?

No. To the contrary, they are flame resistant. As explained earlier, the fibers will curl, but they will resist flames and not drip.

Is faux fur as warm as real fur?

 The R-value, how heat retention is measured, of faux fur and animal fur is actually about the same.  Individual fibers trap body heat, whether they're fabric fibers or an animal's skin. 

Does faux fur shed?

A little shedding is to be expected with faux fur.  Any shedding is likely to be residual and diminishes after a few uses.  We suggest brushing your faux fur from time to time to keep it looking its best and expel excess fibers.
